Pride

Image
Self-Pride Pride Pride: is a human secondary emotion characterized by a sense of security with one's identity, performance, or accomplishments; a feeling that you respect yourself and deserve to be respected by other people self-respect     We take pride in our achievements and the achievement of others because we are proud of those achievements. Taking pride in ourselves and recognizing our own self-worth, personal qualities, and achievements can boost our self-esteem, can build our confidence, can make us more self-reliant, and can motivate us to take the steps needed to move forward toward our goals. There are benefits in taking pride in all that we do. Self-pride challenges us to step out of our comfort zone and take on difficult tasks, reflect on the tasks we have completed and how far we come, to be proud of the accomplishments we have made, and we are not too proud to work with others or get help from others . There is also danger in being too prideful...

Unconditional Love

Image
Unconditional Love:  is   selfless, enduring, forgiving, and has no restrictions Unconditional Love: is selfless, enduring, forgiving, and has no restrictions   The Bible teaches us that God loves us all unconditionally.  He loved himself less so that he could love us more - he gave up his only begotten son for us.  This unwavering commitment of Divine love is offered to everyone and anyone willing to accept it. While we cannot match God's unconditional love, we are called to unconditionally love all people and all things in our lives, being selfless, enduring, and forgiving love towards others – reflecting God's own loving nature.   God Said: “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me” Matthew 10:37 "If anyone comes to Me and does not * hate his father and mother... he cannot be My disciple." Luke 14:26 *Hate in Hebrew means loving something less. ...

What does Living a Disciplined Life Mean to You

Image
I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me Discipline is a very important personality trait in our life. It signifies a set of rules and regulations we set for ourselves to be followed while facing any task or activity. It is a way of being honest, faithful, inspired, and encouraged while doing any task. This is a person who has strong self-control, sticks to a consistent framework of rules and/or habits, and they have the inner strength to resist temptations even when it is difficult or feels unpleasant. A disciplined person has the ability to control impulses, maintain focus, and exhibit willpower, allowing them to live their life with purpose in pursuit of their goals.    Most of us are living some sort of disciplined life whether we are aware of it or not. We all want to live a life where we are the best version of ourselves and live our lives not only on purpose, but with purpose.   Living a disciplined life means that we set rules for the life th...

Addiction

Image
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." Matthew 7:7 Addiction   Addiction ( There are two main forms of addiction: substance use disorders and behavioral addictions ) - the fact or condition of being *addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity; one strongly inclined to do, use, or indulge in something repeatedly   Almost everyone suffers from some form of addiction, something that seems to have more power or control over us than we would like it to. This could be food, sugar, alcohol, drugs, approval, cigarettes, money, power, anything, …     There is no one reason why a person becomes addicted to something, only they can answer that question. We don’t know their situation or what they have been through to get to where they are. We don’t know what triggers them – it could be a phone call, a text, something they hear, someone they see, something they smell, it could be anything.   For many tod...

Judging Others

Image
Judging Others Form, give, have an opinion, or make a decision about someone, often negatively, based on their actions, looks, clothes, where they live, lifestyle, character, beliefs, or what others say about them We have all done or been in this situation at some point in our lives, formed an opinion about someone without even knowing them or the truth. How do we really know someone or someone’s truth if we aren’t willing to know or find out the truth? How can we honestly form an opinion by clothing, housing, hairstyles, looks, weight, colour of skin, relatives, friends, vehicle, education, job/career, gossip…the list goes on to how opinions are formed about others. Just because someone has money, this doesn’t mean that they have it all; just like someone who doesn’t have money – they could have a lot of things in common. We don’t know if we aren’t willing to find out. Don’t judge what you don’t honestly know. Can you honestly say what a person is all about just from a...

Forgiveness

Image
Forgiveness - The action or process of forgiving or being forgiven; ready and willing to forgive; stop feeling angry or resentful toward (someone) for an offense, flaw, or mistake. Forgiveness is not always an easy task for us to do; it involves willfully let go of feelings of resentment toward ourselves or someone who has committed a wrong, been deceitful, hurtful, or otherwise harmed us in some way. Over time if this resentment is not released it can create such a heaviness on our heart, mind, body, and soul that it can actually make us ill. Holding on to resentment, whether it’s self-forgiveness or forgiving some else, takes our power from us; it keeps us imprisoned living in the past – Forgiveness sets us free! Letting go of this burden doesn’t mean that we will forget how it felt, but it will release the burden we have been harbouring. Forgiveness comes from the heart; therefore, we don’t have to actually go to that person(s) and forgive them; we can forgive them in ...

Faith

Image
Have Faith that what is yours is on its way, “for we walk by faith, not by sight –“ 2 Corinthians 5:7 Faith has multiple definitions, including "something that is believed especially with strong conviction", "complete trust", "belief and trust in and loyalty to God", as well as "a firm belief in something for which there is no proof" We talked about belief; belief and faith go hand-in-hand; you can’t have one without the other. We must have faith in our beliefs, if there is no faith in our beliefs why do we have the beliefs? When we have faith in something, we believe and trust in it even if it is unseen. When we put our faith in a higher power we should trust without fear or doubt. When we put our faith in something or someone we should believe without fear, doubt, or thoughts of lack. Having faith means being all in; you can’t say you have faith in something and then let doubt or fear influence your decisions and choices. When we have faith i...
