What if ...? Part 6 of 6

What if You were "The Creator of Your Destiny"? What if we were “The Creator of Our Destiny” ?  As the creator of our own destiny, what would our life look like?  ·       reduced stress, happier, healthier lifestyle, prosperous in all areas of life, … ·       commitment to ourselves and our goals ·       educate ourselves ·       live in our dream house, own our dream vehicle, ….  Would we take our commitments and set measureable goals for each thing we committed to? What if we set a minimum, target, and outrageous goal for each commitment?  What if we wanted to be happier…our minimum goal could be to take 5 – 10 minutes a day doing something we love, our target goal could be 20 minutes per day, and our outrageous goal could be 40-60 minutes or more daily.  What if we wanted to be healthier…our minimum goal could be to add one exercise 3...

What are your thoughts creating What if We Could Decide What We Want?     Let’s look at our lists from last week.  Did you commit to just one thing on your list, did you write it down, did you say it out loud, and most important…what difference did it make?   What if we committed to other things on our list or other things in our life?   Now, what if we were the creators of our own destiny; what would we create for these categories of our life: financial; career; recreation and free time; physical fitness and health; relationship with family and friends; personal goals (learning, spiritual growth, personal achievement); community service, contribution, and legacy.   What if we decided to create our own destiny: ·       would we commit to writing 3-4 things about each category that we would like to create and achieve over the next year ·       would we read and/or journal about them daily ·...

What is Your Heart Telling You What if…You took 100% responsibility continued? Last week we discussed “ What if we were to take just 10% more responsibility  for our life? ”   Did you notice any similarities with the answers you wrote in your notebook? ·        Let’s take a minute to write down anything we think is connected   Now what if we were willing to take action and committed to one of the things on our list?  It doesn’t have to be huge…it could be as simple as taking half an hour in our room by ourself if we wrote more time for ourself. What if we wrote it down and repeated it out loud and made ourself accountable for this one thing?   It is taking action, not what we know, that will make the difference.   "Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth" 1 John 3:18     What if we asked ourself these seven questions, if we thought it could help us:   1.  What p...

Divine Love   What if…We took 100% responsibility?   The most important step in creating a happier, healthier, successful life is taking more responsibility for our lives.  What if we gave up complaining and blaming?  What if we spent less time complaining about things outside of ourself, like the weather, our boss, the traffic, the economy,… What if we quit making excuses and took the position that whatever we are experiencing in life is what we have created with our thoughts and actions…whether financial, physical, or our relationships…what if the life we are experiencing is the result of how we react and how we think about the events in our life…rather than the events themselves. Have you heard of the saying, " What we do and think about, is what we bring about. " "For as he thinks within himself, so he is." Proverbs 23:7   I am sure we have all experienced blaming the event when we didn’t get the result we wanted?  External events are events that ...

What if ... We Tried to be Happy Gratitude & Happiness   This week we are going to look at the what if’s mentioned last week.  Let’s look at the lists we wrote about last week…all the things that bother us and why they bother us.  How did it make you feel when you reviewed your list? How did it make you feel when you turned your list around in a more positive manner? Did you feel any sense of relief? If you had trouble doing this exercise, don’t worry, we have all experienced difficulty with change at some point. The key is to keep trying.   “You must be the change you want to see in your life” Mahatma Gandhi.   Here are some examples that we can use a guideline, if we need help turning our list around:   Are you the giver that always helps everyone, even when you don’t really feel like it or have the time. “I must help everyone else; I don’t have time for myself.” It’s okay to say “NO”! It’s okay to think of yourself first! Instead of always think...

New Year, New You What If? Part 1   We have all wondered why some people seem to have all the luck. What do these lucky people possess that others do not? We have seen lucky people lose everything only to regain it all back and more. Do we think that these people are just born naturally lucky? What if we could be that lucky person? What if...no one was born lucky! What if...these people created their own luck! What if...we knew what they knew! Stop for a moment and think...what do we think about most often? ·       Do we worry about bills, our financial situation ·       What do we complain about most... money, work, spouse/partner, children, boss... ·       Do we blame others for the situation we are in ·       How often do negative thoughts enter our mind in one day Take a few minutes to write down a list of all the things that bother you and why they bo...

Prosperously Giving & Receiving

Image
‘Tis the season for giving and receiving. We have all been here at some point either on the giving or receiving end and I am sure we have struggled with some kind of discomfort around receiving and giving gifts. Hopefully this week’s message will help relieve some of that discomfort. I’m not sure why, but we have been programmed that is always better to give than to receive. There is nothing wrong with receiving. Who doesn’t like a gift every now and again! It is exciting to find and give gifts, it’s uplifting, and brings joy to our hearts and these are the same feelings we should have as the receiver of gift. I have learned that it is an offence to both the giver and the receiver and not a polite thing to say , “Oh, you shouldn’t have done that.” It is essential for us to welcome gifts and divine supply in all forms, if the gift is being given freely with no string attached. True generosity has no strings attached! Our feelings and attitude towards giving and receiving gifts can...

Have Faith & Believe that Anything is Possible

Image
Holiday magic and miracles don’t come in big shiny boxes, they come from the heart, they come from the kindness and generosity that fills a person’s soul and gives them hope, belief, and faith that everything is going to be all right. These are the greatest gifts we can give to ourselves and others. I'm sure we’ve all experienced this at some point during the holiday season. People seem to be happier, more joyous, more kind, more filled with love, and more generous. What is it about this holiday season that seems to make people happier … could it be that so many people are on the same frequency radiating happy, joyous, kind feelings that these feelings can be felt all around the world? They say laughter is contagious, so why not happiness, joy, love, generosity, and kindness? This is the time of year that people believe  there’s magic in the season and they have faith  that miracles do come true. When we believe and have faith, anything is possible. The happy holiday fr...

The Power of the Words We Think & Speak

Image
We have all struggled with some type of judgement. Gossip, the colour of someone’s skin or hair, tattoos, or how they are dressed,... and we instantly think we know what kind of person they are. It’s like reading a book without ever opening the cover and turning a page; how can we determine if we really know what’s inside? There is a power to the words we think and speak. Just a simple comment made to a person or through gossip can be very hurtful – Power of the words we speak. Choosing not to help someone or leaving them out because they are different – Power of the words we think. Even though you didn’t say a word and just walked on by, they felt the judgement. Does anyone remember these two sayings growing up: “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”. I am sure it was meant to be helpful, but words really can hurt a person. How about this second one, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all”, if taught before the first one -...

What is Religion

Image
This is a question we may have experienced in our lives at some point. Nobody knows for sure where the word Religion  came from, but it is thought to mean good faith, ritual, and other similar meanings from the Latin word religo , or to tie fast from the Latin word religãre . Defining the word Religion is burdened with complexity because all the definitions have at lease one drawback and some disregard beliefs and practices that many devotedly defend as religious . The dictionary refers to Religion as ·       the belief in and worship of a superhuman power or powers, especially a God or gods, ·       a particular system of faith and worship, ·       a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance. The Dictionary also refers Religion to be similar to faith, belief, teaching, divinity, theology, church, faith community, following, affiliation. cult, sect, persuasion, worship… ...
